Christmas 3D Shape Nets | Area & Volume

3D shapes nets for KS1 and KS2 (Year 2 to Year 6): a Christmas village of six printable nets that children cut, fold and glue into a present (cube), toy shop (cuboid), Santa’s workshop (triangular prism), snowy mountain (square-based pyramid), lantern (cylinder) and Christmas tree (cone). A no prep Christmas maths and DT craft, 20 pages, in colour and black and white, with area, surface area and volume extension sheets and an answer key.

Children make the shapes themselves, then count the faces, edges and vertices on the model in their hands. Each sheet has the answers printed on it so they can check their own. Start with the cube and cuboid; the cylinder and cone are the stretch, and Year 5 and 6 can go on to measure area and volume.
