This lesson explore the main function of churches and chapels i.e. to conduct and participate in acts of worship. It looks at how the architecture, layout and furniture of places of worship reflect some of the beliefs and practices of the Christian religion in general and the denomination in particular.

(b) Teacher input slides introducing symbolism
(c) Quiz Trade - hand out the slides concerned, each student has one symbolism explained on their side that they then trade until they have them all
(d) Slide with Text on for comprehension and comparism
(e) Evaluative question for consideration.
