Everything you need to teach the coasts and rivers parts of AQA GCSE Geography’s Physical Landscapes in the UK (Paper 1, Section C) in one bundle: 18 one-hour lessons, a 12-week homework booklet and a spaced retrieval pack. The three products follow the same content order and use the same case studies, key terms and sourced figures, so what you teach in a lesson comes back in homework and in your starters, with spacing built in.
What is in the bundle
- 18 one-hour lessons as editable PowerPoints (618 slides), with seven printable resource sheets (Word and PDF), teacher notes for every lesson (timings, answers, mark schemes, specification map, sources), a START-HERE guide and a printed 30-mark Section C-style assessment with a full levels mark scheme. The lessons: a five-question starter quiz, an outcome and big question, key words, three learning cycles (explanation, a check for understanding with a reveal, and a practice task with feedback and a Challenge), a video slide with QR code and watch-for questions, an original exam-style question with a student-friendly mark scheme and example answer, and a five-question exit quiz. Lesson 17 teaches Section C exam technique and Lesson 18 is a review with the printed paper.
- A 12-week homework booklet. about 45 minutes a week in five short chunks, full answers, support pages, student tracker, teacher section.
- A spaced retrieval pack: 12 blocks of “do now” starters, with a mark scheme for every question. It interleaves some Urban Issues (Paper 2) questions on purpose, for spacing.
Case studies: Dorset’s Jurassic Coast (Lulworth, Durdle Door, Old Harry, Chesil Beach); Walton-on-the-Naze (coastal management); the River Tees (source to sea, High Force); the Jubilee River (flood relief channel). Supporting examples: Holderness and Spurn, Christchurch Bay, Clacton, Medmerry, the Leeds and Pickering flood schemes and the River Lambourn.
Specification: AQA GCSE Geography 8035, 3.1.3 (3.1.3.1 UK physical landscapes; 3.1.3.2 coastal landscapes; 3.1.3.3 river landscapes). Every set of teacher notes includes a specification map.
Please note:
- Not included: glacial landscapes (the third option in 3.1.3) and the rest of Paper 1.
- The lessons link to YouTube videos (and one to Oak National Academy), so you need internet access and a school network that allows them. Please preview each clip before teaching.
- The slides contain original maps, charts and diagrams but no photographs and no OS map extracts; add your department’s OS practice.
- Exam-style questions are original and are not taken from AQA papers. This bundle is not endorsed by AQA.
