Help pupils move from recognising individual angle facts to choosing and combining them confidently. This editable 105-slide Year 9 maths PowerPoint provides explicit modelling, substantial practice and complete answers, with no worksheets to print. Project the supplied diagrams and let pupils respond in exercise books or on mini whiteboards.
I DO, WE DO, YOU DO
Three matched I Do / We Do pairs progress through triangle and exterior angles, vertically opposite angles, and isosceles triangles within quadrilaterals. A six-question overview supports teacher modelling, while individual examples leave room for working. Further examples introduce algebraic angles and angles around a point. Worked solutions explain each step and its angle fact.
ONE LARGE DIAGRAM, DIFFERENT LEVELS OF CHALLENGE
An additional one-page differentiated task uses a large shared diagram containing parallel lines, intersecting transversals, triangles and quadrilaterals. Six Developing questions each use one angle fact. Six Secure questions combine facts. Three Greater Depth questions explore quadrilateral angles, an exterior-angle relationship and the effect of changing a given angle. A Super Challenge asks pupils to generalise using algebra. Complete solutions accompany every level.
A SECOND ONE-PAGE DIFFERENTIATED OPTION
The original differentiated page includes eight Developing, six Secure and four Greater Depth questions, plus a Super Challenge. Pupils progress from numerical angle calculations to algebra, reverse problems and justifying all possible values. Teachers can choose the task that best suits their class or use both.
PLENTIFUL PRACTICE
Five practice pages each contain 12 questions. Shared diagrams allow pupils to solve multiple cases without repeatedly copying figures. Tasks cover triangle and exterior angles, vertically opposite angles, quadrilaterals, algebraic angles and combined isosceles-triangle problems. Additional reasoning tasks ask pupils to explain changes, work backwards and identify a missing step.
CHECK UNDERSTANDING
• Six retrieval questions with grouped answers.
• Six prerequisite questions with grouped answers.
• Twenty individual AFL questions in a continuous question-and-answer sequence, suitable for mini whiteboards.
• A misconception check, a six-mark exam-style question and three fresh exit checks.
• Super Challenges with complete solutions, including a task about whether angle information determines a unique set of triangle angles.
