An assembly that explores the idea of being the first humans to set up a colony on Mars. It covers what NASA is doing to prepare (a short clip on a website is included) and looks at the preparation of astronauts and potential living conditions on the red planet. References to the Mars One programme is also included.
Would suit all ages as can be adapted and requires interaction with the children in the audience through questioning.

Some interesting slides and facts about NASA's Mars project but the title of the resource is a little misleading (unless it's just me..). I was looking for a resource on the topic of community so it would be good to have some slides at the end talking about what it means to be part of a community and all the types of people that make up a balanced community maybe. It feels like the presentation just stops without a conclusion. However, I can build on these slides myself.
