LESSON 5-8 IN THE SERIES. This four- lesson resource is part of a tailored unit to help students engage with Section C of Component 2.Each contained lesson will focus on a part/parts of RAIL.This four-lesson structure focuses on Representation and covers:

-Marshall McLuhan (“The Medium is the Message” and the ‘Global Village’.
-Jean Baudrillard (Hyper-reality, Simulacra and Simulation)
-Construction of gender in ‘Zoella’ and ‘Attitude’
-Write 1 PEE paragraph answering the following question- Explore how the December 2017 issue of ‘Attitude’ challenges notions of masculinity.
-CULTIVATED STEROTYPES OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY (Socio/Cultural, political and historical contexts)
-Stuart Hall (Representational theory and three readings)
-Judith Butler (Gender Performativity and Queer Theory)
-Two-Step Flow
-TASK 4: Identity plays a huge part in the construction of meaning/ideologies, with regards to Social Influencers and opinion leaders within our society. Let’s jot down some initial ideas of how we could tackle a question like this in the exam.

-H/W MASTERY FOCUS AND RESOURCE ON THE QUESTION: How far can aspects of identity be seen to affect the way in which audiences use online media? Discuss, with reference to Zoella and Attitude. You should refer to relevant academic theories in your response.
