Comparing fractions - Edexcel (Very low ability) SEN

Hi,

This bundle is designed for students that really struggle to understand the core understanding of fractions. This lesson looks into working out a shaded part of a shape, ordering fractions with the same denominator and using fractions to describe a part of a shape. The worksheet provided has the 3 tasks the students will be completing within the lesson.

I have used this resource with 2 low ability groups and they thoroughly enjoyed the lesson. I have incorporated a wide use of differentiation and challenge within the PPT. To keep the students engaged I have also implemented a few RAG activities (mini plenaries).

The Learning objectives covered are:
- I can describe fractions by looking at visual aids
- I can order fractions with the same denominator
- I can use fractions to describe parts of a shape
