This innovative activity is called read, highlight, tabulate and is a literacy based task. In year 7, pupils have to understand that the properties of elements are different to that of the compound they comprise (eg. water, oxygen and hydrogen).

Blooms taxonomy has been integrated into this activity to provide a differentiated worksheet where pupils can make progress as they move through tasks 1-3. Pupils can then peer/self assess the 6 mark answer using the success criteria provided.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave feedback, putting forward your views,
This activity has been adapted from the Activate 1 KS3 textbook.
