This complete lesson focuses on interference as an explanation for forgetting within the Y12 memory topic using the 2025 AQA A Level psychology specification. It includes engaging tasks for students to take part in as well as informative exam technique support and model answers.
This lesson includes:

  • A detailed PowerPoint presentation on interference with thorough teacher notes and fun engaging student activities.
  • A practical memory activity to start the lesson.
  • A student worksheet on everything they need to know about interference including some research methods questions for them to work on within the context of interference research.
  • A Kahoot activity to check student knowledge and understanding. This includes a web link that takes you to my ready made public Kahoot.
  • 12 scenario cards for students to organise into either proactive or retroactive interference.
  • An application exam question including a slide on how to answer the question, as well as a model answer.
  • A teacher information sheet with 3 x model PEEL paragraphs on evaluation of interference as an explanation of forgetting.

This resource will take approximately 2 lessons to complete. However, if you have less time you can always leave tasks out.
