Comprehensive examination of the increasingly complex and interdependent world in which we are living.

This is the third (and final) in a series of lessons from The Knowledge House that links to Chapter 2 of the new Edexcel specification on Global Politics - The state and globalisation.

This lesson examines the issue of Americanization, and how globalisation has led to the homogenisation of the world’s culture.

This lesson also examines the different schools of thought on the process of globalsiation:

  1. Hyper-globalisers
  2. Globalisation sceptics
  3. Transformationalists

There is a summary sheet on globalisation that summarises everything students have done up to this point on the topic of globalisation.

This is an extremely important lesson within the Global Politics specification, as it raises the question as to whether the nation-state or the international community is best placed to meet the demands of an increasingly globalised world, highlighting the realist v liberal debate.

This is done in an engaging and student-friendly manner, with interactive worksheets and an accompanying PPT that guides both teacher and student through the content.
