This activity is designed to go at the end of the GCSE AQA organic chemistry topic for the 'triology' award but would also work for the single chemistry award. It covers both a practical demonstration and the differences with the industrial process of catalystic cracking and gives an overview of the differences between alkanes and alkenes including different ways to qualitatively test for the different functional groups.
