Creating a Successful Classroom Environment is a practical, editable toolkit designed to help teachers reflect on their classroom practice, strengthen routines and relationships, and create the conditions pupils need to learn successfully.

Rather than focusing on behaviour management alone, the toolkit helps teachers consider the whole classroom environment. It supports staff to think purposefully about expectations, routines, consistency, relationships, belonging, barriers to learning, pupil voice and their own classroom practice.

A particularly useful feature is the Classroom Reset Plan, which supports teachers when routines, relationships or learning habits have slipped and a class needs a purposeful fresh start.

The toolkit also encourages teachers to consider what may sit behind difficulties with engagement before interpreting behaviour. This includes learning, communication, sensory, emotional and relational barriers.

Pupil voice is included as a meaningful part of the review process, helping teachers understand what supports learning from the perspective of the pupils themselves.

Suitable for: trainee teachers, ECTs, experienced teachers, teachers taking on a new class, teachers supporting a challenging group and leaders supporting classroom practice.

It can be used at the beginning of an academic year, when taking over a new class, as part of professional reflection, following a difficult period with a class or whenever classroom routines and expectations need to be strengthened.
