This resource is a lesson themed around taking inspiration for creative writing from everyday objects. I used this as the start of a school competition, which led to a huge variety of entries.
The lesson includes a starter inspired by a creative opening line, followed by some studying of imagist poetry focused on everyday objects. It also includes a task which will require some actual objects placed around the classroom to inspire the students.
