Students will first examine their own skills and qualities and research the current climate with regard to the rise of AI use in the job market. They will then study 24 different jobs, broken down into the six sectors which are likely to value human input and characteristics in the years to come. Students will assess these jobs against their own skills and qualities, before deciding if pursuing any of these options would be a good fit for them. This lesson will likely last two hours. 4) Body Image, Filters and AI - how are AI filters and social media affecting our body image? In this lesson students delve into ‘filter dysmorphia’ - a new but growing phenomenon affecting the mental health of teens. Students will investigate how filters are creating completely unrealistic beauty standards - and how with the help of AI, almost undetectable filters are being applied not just to images, but to the videos of influencers and peer social media users too. Students will discover what is behind ‘Instagram Face’, why everyone is starting to look the same as each other in their uploads and the effect this is having on social media users. They will also discover useful and practical ways to relieve any negative thoughts or dysmorphia and the real message of the lesson - the importance of being authentic. 5) Extremism and Fake News - This two-hour lesson covers how we can check whether news posts on social media are real or fake, why its always important to check, especially before sharing, what can happen if we don’t, and how easily social media can lead us into extremist ways of thinking. Students will investigate a variety of news posts to assess whether they think they are real or fake, before checking them against verifiable sources, such as Full Fact, scientific research papers or official UK government data. All this information is included in an accessible, student-friendly way. 6) Alcohol, risks and responsible behaviour - A focus on alcohol, drinking responsibly, health effects and binge-drinking consequences. The lesson will take you an hour and has a wide range of activities, Students will investigate how alcohol affects our major organs, with a focus on the brain - showing how easy it is to make poor decisions about relationships and also explaining how it affects physical co-ordination and personal risk-assessment. 7) New PSHE 2026 lesson all about love, lust and making our feelings clear. In this lesson students will explore the difference between love, lust and the importance of communicating whether or not they wish to explore physical intimacy. Students will also explore the downsides of ‘hook-up culture’, the importance of carrying condoms and how alcohol and drugs contribute towards poor sexual choices. The lesson is best suited to KS4 or KS5, but everything is editable. 8) Friendship, meeting new people and trusting our instincts - PSHE lesson for 2026 all about how it can be important to trust our instincts / intuition if ‘something feels off’. Best suited to UKS3, KS4 or KS5 - although nothing unsuitable for younger secondary students. Students will explore what it means to trust your gut if you get a bad feeling about a person, why we have these feelings and how they have protected people in the past. They will watch clips, investigate case studies and explore how to recognise unsafe situations and examine what they would do in different situations where some danger could be present. 9) New PSHE 2026 lesson all about ending relationships, the difficult emotions and pain this can bring and how to manage this successfully, as well as being respectful and safe when breaking up with someone else (both online and off-line). Created for the new 2026 DfE guidelines. 10) New PSHE 2026 lesson all about the trend of ‘looksmaxxing’ and how it can be dangerous. This lesson focuses on looksmaxxing’s links to the manosphere and misogyny, dangerous trends and male body image / self-esteem. It’s created for the new 2026 RSHE guidelines, is editable and will last an hour. 11) New 2026 Guidelines RSHE lesson with a focus on young people and gangs, weapons coercion and legal consequences. This lesson also explores the concept of ‘cuckooing’ - when a criminal gang takes over the home of an unwitting or vulnerable person through coercion or force, and the legal consequences for carrying weapons, being involved with drugs and gang-related activity. The lesson will last an hour and has been created for the new KS5 PSHE package, although could also be used with KS4. 12) Covering the new PSHE Association criteria for KS5 in 2026 regarding financial literacy - this lesson explores managing accommodation (rent), contracts, budgeting, paying bills, consumer rights and providing signposting to further appropriate advice. It follows Ellie, a 23 year old full-time worker, who has just moved in with her friend to a flat-share. We examine her income and out-goings and identify where she could make savings. We also examine why renting in the UK is so expensive and why some young people are choosing to stay with parents for longer. 13) Mental Health Focus KS5 - Covering the 2026 PSHE Association’s new KS5 objectives (H4-H7). Drop Down Day : Careers and Enterprise
Drop Down Day / Off Timetable Day Pack - A set of 6 lessons to cover a Drop Down Day (6 hours) all about careers and enterprise. The Drop Down Day was put together for Year 10 originally, but all the resources are editable and well-differentiated so it could be used with any year group KS4 / KS3 with a tweak or so. The overall theme for the series of KS4 Drop Down Days was 'Independent Living', so this is just one in a series of six which ran throughout the year. This particular day was run just before the Year 10s went off for work experience, as we decided that this would be a great way to prepare them and convey the importance of focusing on their possible future employment opportunities. As 25% of Britains now class themselves as self-employed, two out of the six sessions also have a large focus on entrepreneurship and enterprise skills. All these individual lessons have been rated very highly by Tes users and are tried and tested in my own department.
