CVC Writing Prompt

CVC Writing Prompt is a hands-on, printable phonics resource designed to support children in Reception and Year 1 with segmenting and writing CVC words.

The resource includes printable picture prompts (for example: pot, cat, seeds, paint), each illustrated on a wooden disk design. Once printed and cut out, the disks can be placed on tables or in provision areas for children to select, say the word aloud, segment the sounds, and write the word on whiteboards or paper.

This resource encourages active phonics practice through talk, movement, and writing, making it suitable for both adult-led and child-initiated activities.
