Students answer 25 questions and colour the matching baubles on a Christmas tree. Every correct answer is on the tree exactly once, and three tricky baubles show common mistakes, so a finished tree has exactly three white baubles left. Covers place value and rounding, the four operations, fractions and three mixed Star problems. Year 6 classes can use it at the end of the White Rose autumn term; Year 7 classes can use it as a retrieval check on KS2 number. Includes 10 slides with speaker notes, a 3-page tree booklet, an answer key with working, and a teacher guide. About 30 minutes. All questions are original.
More detail: Who it’s for: Year 6 and Year 7 (ages 10–12), individuals or pairs, cover lessons, tutoring and transition work. How to use it: hand out booklets and coloured pencils and show one branch slide at a time (about 30 minutes in all). Students colour each answer’s bauble, so the tree checks their work and you are free to help those who need it. Finished trees make a lovely Christmas display. Branch 1 covers place value and rounding, Branch 2 the four operations (including long multiplication, long division and order of operations), Branch 3 fractions with all four operations, and the Star three mixed problems. What’s in the zip: 10 slides (PowerPoint and PDF) with speaker notes; a 3-page tree booklet; a 1-page answer key with working; and a teacher guide with White Rose links for both year groups, a run sheet and differentiation. Every PDF comes in A4.
