Deserts: Opportunities

• READY TO TEACH (LESSON 4/8 - DESERTS).

This lesson requires the use of the blue AQA Oxford textbook.

Discuss with pupils the opportunity Qatar has of being World Cup Host in 2022. Explore other opportunities available in desert environments (slide 3). Outline the section of the syllabus taught during today’s lesson (slide 4). Pupils engage in an independent task - reading the information on pages 70-71 of the textbook, before creating a spider diagram showing the opportunities for development in the Thar desert. Pupils use the information from the handout to answer the GCSE question. Pupils watch the clip about deserts, discussing the key terms learnt this lesson.
