AQA ALevel History- this is my third double lesson in Key Topic 1: Origins of the Cold War.
Lesson examines the growing tensions in the immediate aftermath of the post war conferences between East and West and looks at Stalin’s use of Salami tactics in E. Europe and some of the issues around this e.g. The Percentages Agreement and Churchill basically giving Stalin green light in Bulgaria and to lesser extent Yugoslavia.
There are textbook references for the homework task on Salami tactics case studies but there are some simple slides on this or the students could just research online if you do not have access to the Core Text and Access to History books so this is easily adapted.
Also includes a cartoon task, essay question for debate and discussion, retrieval on reasons for the breakdown of grand alliance and table for case studies on SAlami tactics with Poland (and Bulgaria) included in depth on the powerpoint as a test case for Salami tactics.
