This is an A level lesson on poverty which looks at the causes, effects and policies used to reduce poverty in developing economies (Mexico and Kenya). I designed it for a lesson observation. This lesson is tailored so students are fully active learners with minimal teacher intervention. The most work you will do for this lesson is photocopying the resources but once done, the students should run the lesson themselves.
Activities include a fill in the blanks starter, ranking activity, think pair share activity examining causes, effects and policies, venn diagram comparisons and ends with students putting all the knowledge they have gained into 'perfect paragraphs' using writing frames provided.
