Created by Factfulness co-author Anna Rosling Rönnlund, Dollar Street imagines a world where everyone lives on the same street and the houses are ordered by income. The poorest live on one end, and the richest live on the other end. Income can often tell you more about how people live than location can.
This lesson utilises chromebooks/laptops (or could be used in a computer room) to research the link between income and people’s quality of life. It can be used in advance of or to supplement learning on global development - this resource was pitched at Year 10 (GCSE), and is a good ‘filler’ lesson at the end of term/year.
