This lesson which takes about 2-3 weeks to deliver dependent on how many lessons you have a week (we have 6 a week so delivered it across a fortnight), is designed to help students embed the 9 theorists form Year 12 and begin to learn about and apply the 10 new theorists studied in Year 13,to texts they have already studied. We delivered this lesson upon their return after their AS exams but this could easily be delivered at the start of Year 13 also. This resource contains:

-NEW texts/culled texts explained in detail
-Exam timings/ changes to A2 exams from that of AS
-Climate survey addressing WWW’s/EBI’s of Year 12
-Top tips on how to do well in the exams.
-When and what frameworks to use for each set text.
-At the start of each RAIL area (REP, AUDIENCE, INDUSTRY, MEDIA LANG) a recap as to what the RAIL area covers.
-Framework comprehension tasks on each of the new theories with a ‘All killer. No filler’ breakdown of all of the theories (one per slide).
How to write paragraphs in a PETER structure.
-A patented holistic quiz at the end of the lesson to assess learning has taken place.

The resource includes printable power point resource slides, a you’ve been frameworked sheet on Levi-Strauss, all 19 theorists broken down onto 19 slides.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is providing Media Studies as an AS/A2 . Moreover, each lesson has a task whereby students RAG (Red, Amber, Green) what they have learnt in the lesson against an Examiner checklist (Differentiation, peer assessment).
