A detailed unit of work that explores the Morality Play Everyman through practical drama exploration. This scheme was used for Year 12 pupils who initially struggled to grasp the language of the play (Middle English) by using contemporary scenarios, and introducing the idea of what morality is first, through structured drama work. This helped them to understand the plays context and ideas. This scheme could be adapted easily for more distanced learning in the classroom, and for a variety of exam specifications at A-Level.

Lesson 1- What is Morality?
Lessons 2, 3 and 4- Plot
Lesson 5- Character
Lesson 6- Language
Lesson 7- Themes
Lesson 8- Social, Cultural and Historical Context
Lesson 9- Spectacle (Staging)
Lesson 10- Harmony (Soundscape and Melody)

There is also further planning notation and ideas for using the text for the Reinterpretation, for the Eduqas Component 1: Theatre Workshop. These sections are loose in timescale and can be adapted to suit the needs of learners and how they are approaching the reinterpretation.
