This resource was designed for a 5 hour Revision session (7 and a half if you set the mock before it) I delivered over the Easter break in the build up to the Teacher Assessed Grades. It was created in reaction to the poor attempt my 13’s had made on their Component 2 a few weeks previous. This one of the parts that would contribute to their TAG, so needed to be addressed ASAP. This session was designed for classroom teaching but was delivered over TEAMS with the resources handed to students to work through LIVE at home, before breaking up for the holiday.

TEXTS COVERED:

SEC A: ‘LIFE ON MARS’/ ‘THE BRIDGE’
SEC B: ‘VOGUE’/ ‘THE BIG ISSUE’
SEC C: ‘ZOELLA’/ ‘ATTITUDE’

But the resource can easily be adapted for differing set texts.

The resource is full of:

-Loads of exemplars (a whole 2 hr and 30 min exemplar BAND 5 mock response written by me focusing on what all my students got wrong including marking criteria, indicative content etc.

-Breaking down exam timings, how to attack the questions and using the planning time at the start of the exam.

-Application tasks and live modeling. Analysis of my exemplar response and the addressing of misconceptions.

-A personalised report card with inputted template targets to highlight when providing students with feedback.

-A support resource with all 19 theorists (a slide on each theorist) simplifying all of the theoretical frameworks.

-Detailed videos, support notes in the note section of the power point and printable resource slide/ resources attached.

And much, much more. One of my students commented on the feedback form afterwards “Honestly, the best revision session I have ever been to, in any subject. Feel so much clearer on what I need to do now. Roll on Component 2”.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is providing Media Studies as an AS/A2 . Moreover, each lesson has a task whereby students RAG (Red, Amber, Green) what they have learnt in the lesson against an Examiner checklist (Differentiation, peer assessment).

If you liked this resource and found it useful, it would be greatly appreciated if you could feedback or rate my resource as I am constantly trying to adapt and refine my resources to improve the learning of my students. Many thanks.
