LESSON 1-3: This TRIPLE lesson starts an 11 lesson series (REP power Point as well as a IND/AUD one) focusing on the Newspapers Industry and that of the ‘Daily Mirror’. It is important to note that this is based on the 2020 assessed text of the US Election. The new Brexit set editions will be uploaded shortly for assessment after 2021. This lesson focuses on:
-Media Language assessment of Retained Learning
-Tabloids, broadsheets and Red Tops
-Contextual exploration (audio/visual) of the US Election
-A task whereby all of the key Newspaper terminology is studied and applied to the set and an unseen text
-Left V Right Wing politics and the political spectrum
-An exemplar annotated version of a double page spread and a task whereby students use this to deconstruct the ‘Daily Mirror’ one
-Structualism
-Exploration of a SAMS Media Lang question.
NOTE: All task sheets, differentiated resources and audio/visual stimuli are included within the lesson.
