This powerpoint slide deck accompanies the short story EL HIJO. Text is featured in side by side with comprehension questions to help students understand the story. Also included a brief biography of the author, link to audio, link to video analysis and follow up questions for comprehension. EL HIJO is part of the AP Spanish Literature reading list, but is understandable enough for a level IV, V or Heritage Language learner class. Plan 2-3 days to read and analyze the story. Slides can be assigned via Google Classroom for students to complete independently or used full screen to direct the class’ learning.
