Three worksheets aimed at learning about ellipses, punctuation marks used to indicate hesitation and trailing off in speech; to show that there is a cliffhanger; to signify that there is an implied meaning that has not been stated; to introduce a flashback; and to show the passage of time.
The worksheets cover a variety of difficulty levels and are all accompanied by answer sheets.
The worksheets cover the following:
✽ Identifying correct ellipsis use
✽ Adding ellipsis to a sentence
✽ Matching sentences containing ellipsis to their function
The worksheets can be completed independently or in pairs.
Answer sheets are included.

These activities are particularly suitable for Year 6 and above.
