These slides on Modern Employment was one of the most engaging lessons I’ve taught this term. The resource explained key topics like the Gig Economy and trade unions with clear examples that really brought abstract concepts to life. In class, we discussed the pros and cons of gig work using examples from Grab and Uber Eats, and students were immediately hooked: debating flexibility, job security, and ethics with genuine enthusiasm. The included activities encouraged collaboration and critical thinking, helping even quieter students get involved. I particularly liked how the slides balanced academic content with real-world relevance, making the material both practical and easy to connect to current events. It’s a resource that not only saves planning time but also gets students thinking deeply about the future of work. Highly recommend!
