This resource has been designed for students working towards Entry Level 2 Functional Skills English certification (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds, NOCN and Open Awards). It contains an age-appropriate, 125-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 36-page workbook on the Entry Level 2 reading component.
These resources will help pupils to achieve the following learning outcomes:
read correctly words designated for Entry Level 2
read and understand sentences with more than one clause
understand the main points in texts
recognise and use organisational markers in texts such as headings, bullet points and numbered lists
use a dictionary to find the meaning of words
