Maths GCSE lesson on forming an equation of a straight line through algebraic substitution (given the gradient and a point the line passes through).

Please note this is five of five lessons on equations of straight lines:

  1. Finding gradient and y-intercept both from the graph and by inspecting the equation
  2. Sketching the equation of a straight line using the gradient and y-intercept
  3. Plotting equations of a straight line using a table of values
  4. Finding the midpoint of a line segment
    5) Finding the equation of a straight line using algebraic substitution

Lesson structure includes examples, MWB section, two tasks and a challenge task.

PowerPoint and ActivInspire formats included.

Take back hours of your time and still deliver an excellent lesson!

Lesson benefits include:

  • Engage a love of learning by discussion of how the maths applies in real life
