Equilibria at AS Level

The scheme of resources is suitable for the equilibria topic for the new AS Level which incorporates Kc which was previously covered as A2.
Lesson 1 is an introduction to the topic which studies le Chatelier's principle and an explanation of different factors (temperature, pressure, concentration, catalyst) on rate of reaction and position of equilibrium.
Lesson 2 involves students working out an explanation for compromise conditions for the Haber process and formation of ethanol from ethene.
Lesson 3 give a structured approach to students calculating the number of moles and concentration of reactants and products at equilibrium.
Lesson 4 introduces Kc. This covers an explanation of Kc, expressions, units and calculations for Kc.
Lesson 5 studies different factors that affect the value of Kc and/or position of equilibrium.
Summary past paper questions are given at the end of the topic.
Several questions and answers are given throughout each lesson to consolidate student's understanding of the topic.
