Report comment generator tool in Microsoft Excel which allows you to quickly and easily create tailored report comments for each of your students.

Assign a number from 1 to 30 to each of your students and Report Writer will create a comment tailored to the student’s ability, progress and performance in the classroom. The comment takes into account the student’s first name, gender, year group, subject and recent topic, and is tailored to their general ability level and approach to learning.

Teachers generally need to produce a high volume of report comments each year, the writing of which is highly monotonous, time consuming and prone to human error. Many teachers resort to copying and pasting a small number of comments for the different “types” of students they teach and methodically go through changing the students names, references to gender (i.e. he/she, his/her, etc). Not only is this monotonous and time consuming, but highly likely that a multitude of errors will be made in the process.

Teachers (especially secondary and teachers of specific subjects i.e. music, PE, ICT) often have several classes across different year groups, and may even teach the same students for multiple subjects. It is not uncommon for teachers to have to write 200-300 report comments, several times throughout the school year. This time very easily equates to over 30 hours of work to produce a set of non-personal, substandard reports containing many errors.

The Excel Report Writer allows you to quickly create a set of 30 comment templates, and by assigning a number between 1 and 30 to each student, will produce a set of error-free report comments, tailored to the ability and general attitude/behaviour/personality of the students.
