A Powerpoint expanding brackets with a differentiated worksheet. Begins by using the bar model to expand single brackets with a number on the outside. Then moves to using a formal method, and then expanding and simplifying brackets in the form 2(x + 1) + 3(x - 1) etc. All answers for the questions on the powerpoint are included. Answers to worksheet included. Highly successful lesson which I use with all of key stage 3 as well as foundation GCSE groups.
