This resource is for high ability KS4 students. The resource consists of a lesson presentation and a worksheet. There are worked solutions to the questions on the worksheet.

The lesson starts by explaining the idea of exponential growth. An example shows how a multiplier is used to form an equation for repeated percentage change. There is an activity requiring students to complete the formula given a number of contexts, before starting on the worksheet.

The lesson continues by considering finding growth or decay rate, the initial amount or an intermediate amount. An example is given. Students complete an exercise to develop skills before tackling questions on the worksheet.
