An activity, quiz and worksheets to help pupils learn to identify and punctuate the four sentence types: statements, questions, commands and exclamations.

✽ Four Sentence Type Card Sort: pupils sort the sentences into statements, exclamations, questions and commands and identify the punctuation to end each sentence. Great for paired or small group work.
✽ Four Sentence Type Quiz: pupils identify which sentence type is displayed on the screen and which punctuation mark is required at the end of each sentence. Each answer is revealed on the next slide. Can be used to share the answers for the card sort.
✽ Question or Exclamation Worksheet: pupils identify the questions and exclamations. Great as an independent assessment task.
✽ Statement to Question Worksheet: pupils change statements to questions and vice versa. Great as an independent assessment task.
✽ Four Sentence Types Writing Worksheet: pupils are prompted to write four types of sentences about different images.
