The Night of the Lost Runes is an immersive advanced ESL grammar escape challenge in which students solve grammar questions, decode hidden letters, and complete four connected missions.
Designed for advanced English learners, this resource combines grammar practice with problem-solving and collaborative learning. Students need to apply their knowledge of complex grammar structures carefully in order to progress through each stage.

HOW IT WORKS
Students progress through four grammar missions. Each mission contains a series of multiple-choice questions.
For each question, students select the correct answer. Correct answers provide letters that students use to decode a hidden word and unlock the next stage.
Students can complete the activity individually, in pairs, or in small teams.

ESTIMATED TIME
Approximately 45–75 minutes, depending on student level, group size, and how the activity is implemented.
The resource can also be divided into shorter classroom activities.
