This is a very colourful and versatile card game which can be used over a period of time. It can be used as a way of reinforcing the future tense alone or a way of reinforcing the past tense alone … or both for high flyers

There should be 5 piles of cards on the table:
• one set of personal pronouns,
• one set of time phrases,
• one set of AVOIR & ÊTRE conjugated in the present tense,
• one set of verbs conjugated in the future tense
• one set of verbs past participles.

Each child picks a personal pronoun and then a time phrase. Depending on the time phrase, the pupil will either pick:
• one card from the “future” pile OR
• one card from “avoir” & “être” pile + one card from the past participle pile. This is a great way for pupils to memorise the fact you need 2 verbs, to make a past tense!

Pupils need to make sure that verbs agree with the subject so if the card does not fit, they are allowed to pick another but must always put one back in the appropriate pile and at the bottom of the pile.

This is a game which reinforces a lot of areas and the person with the most correct phrases wins the game!!
