I managed to update a very useful booklet, adapting it for the New GCSE Vocabulary.
It is divided for Themes and Topics.
Foundation and Higher.
I give the one without English words to my students at the beginning of the GCSE course for them to revise and have a weekly vocabulary test. They will need to fill the English equivalents for all the words in the 2 years coursework.
Let me know if you find any mistake, please :D
This is all of the Vocabulary Lists, provided by AQA in their GCSE Specification, translated into English. It has been proof-read by a native speaker but please let me know if there are any mistakes. - UPDATED 21/22/14 - PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU SPOT ANY OTHER TYPOS
One of these is a list of reviewing questions for higher level speaking tests on the cultural topic - talk about an author (Vercors). The second is a document which our French assistant wrote in answer to some of the questions. The third a list of questions of the first couple of pages of the book. I have taught this short 26 page text for four years now at higher level and students cope with it well and learn to write and speak about it successfully.
PowerPoint and accompanying workpack designed to encourage pupils to use a variety of complex structures in their spoken and written French. I use it as a revision tool for pupils to use as part of their controlled assessment preparation. Please do let me know if you spot any mistakes.
Print out the cards and laminate them. Pupils work in pairs or small groups and race against each other to form the perfect tense with the cards after reading the infinitive and the subject from the PowerPoint. Good element of competition and really highlights how much (or little!) they actually know. Includes avoir and être verbs and agreement.
Can be easily adapted to suit your requirements too.
