Teaching about food is always fun. It’s even more fun with beginners! The question is where do we start? How can we be sure that we have integrated all the vocabulary and grammar relevant to their level?

How about having the context, the vocabulary and the grammar in just one place with explanations, exercises and feedback?

This flexible resource with a PPT and booklet will help you teach about food items, meals and food habits. This resource is aimed at helping teachers to complement their textbook or to give enough material for those who are not lucky enough to have access to textbooks/material.

The resource contains a PPT with 39 slides and a booklet with 14 pages full of activities for your students so that they can keep a track of their learning. The activities are corrected in the PPT to save you time.

The approach is communicative to allow students to develop their speaking skills but it also contains reading and writing activities to consolidate their grammatical skills and improve their writing skills.

You will find different types of activities to allow a greater differentiation in your class:

- A brainstorming with a shopping list as a starter
- A classification of items
- A dictionary contest
- A reading about breakfast with a comprehension grid
- A matching up activity with breakfast items
- An introduction to quantifier words (box, can, bottle, tube…)
- A grammar point about indefinite articles (du, de la, des)
- A practice about the grammar point
- A ranking activity with likes, dislikes and opinions
- Vocabulary about other meals (lunch, snack, dinner)
- Further vocabulary matching up about fruit and vegetables
- A conversation with opinions in pairs
- 2 writing activities about food and favorite dishes.
- A review of objectives

Have fun!
