French Newcomer Curriculum Grade 7-9 Complete Kit Placement Test | Francisation

Here is the complete francisation kit: eight missions of two periods, a placement test and two check-ins, in a 49-page student workbook, a 128-slide deck and a 37-page document that gathers the guide, the assessments and all the answer keys. The guide, the placement test and the check-ins also come separately. All materials are in French.

The workbook covers the eight missions in order, from « Me présenter » (Introducing myself) to « La vie au Canada » (Life in Canada), and each one follows the same path, from the picture dictionary where students write the words in their own language to Game 4, whose right answers make a secret word such as SALUTATION. Each instruction is a pictogram and a verb: « Lis, Écris, Encercle, Relie, Dis, Écoute, Coche, Colle. » (Read, Write, Circle, Match, Say, Listen, Check, Glue.)

The guide tells you what to do with each tier of the placement test, and the check-ins give a separate level for listening, reading, writing and speaking. Its annex quotes the Ontario curriculum.

You can give the placement test again at the end, which clearly shows the student’s progress.
