Habitats open and close the year in this Grade 4 science and technology guide, because students observe outdoors before the frost and in the spring. In between come light and sound, machines and rocks, following the Ontario curriculum, 2022 edition. The guide has 11 pages, and it comes with an editable Word plan and a 30-second video. All materials are in French.
Each topic has its own page, with the specific expectations, a suggested big idea, safety, an investigation and a two-week team project, such as the crank crane or the rock museum. The guide also names the misconception to watch for: « Les élèves lisent la flèche d’une chaîne alimentaire comme mange. » (Students read the arrow of a food chain as « eats ».)
You also get what changes from Grade 3, the first two weeks in six sessions, the year month by month, eleven tasks spread over the report cards, the achievement chart and ideas for split-grade classes. Coding produces sounds and messages, and skilled trades are part of the activities.
