GCSE 1-9 Revision Games - Connect 4, Blockbusters & Taboo (Paper 1)

This fantastic resource can be used as a revision tool in lessons for Paper 1 (Fitness & Body Systems)
36 questions (6x6 grid) tiered by difficulty from bottom (easiest) to top (more difficult).
Play these games in teams or as individuals. Lower ability can act as 'question master' who looks at the answers during the game to check correct answers as a way of learning the answers themselves.
Play this game as a CONNECT 4 style or as a BLOCKBUSTERS style.
Connect 4:
players must start at the bottom level in order to build up like in Connect 4. The questions start off a little easier and get harder through the levels. If a player/team gets a question wrong, the 'question master' with the answers can give 3 clues. In case of a wrong answers after 3 clues are given it can be passed to the other player. Laminate and use a white board pen to put your initial in the box where you have answered the question correctly. Objective - build up/across/diagonal 4 correct answers in a row (must always start with the bottom tier and can only answer question above the questions that have already been answered correctly)
Blockbusters:
similar style game but the players/teams can start anywhere on the board. They must get 6 correct answers (all joined together) to make a path from side to side or top to bottom. Rules regarding wrong answers and clues also still apply.
This has been used with 3 different GCSE sets (high achieving group, all boys group and lower ability group). All pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the task and is fantastic for revision before exams or throughout the year after half terms etc.
Taboo:
Similar to the game Taboo, pupils must describe the keyword they see using definitions, examples in practical sport, effects on performance, effects on the body.
Time limits apply to see how many cards pupils can describe.
Excellent for revision and healthy competition in your classroom. Y9 through to Y11 all love this game!
