GCSE Art Visual Mood Board

When starting a project or exam theme it is useful for students to make a visual mood board. They can add the title in the middle of the page. This can be completed in two ways

• on a double page in their sketchbook add anything they can think of to do with their theme - print off images and cut and stick and arrange on the page - this can include written notes - artist examples - dictionary definition of the question/theme/starting point.
• on the computer produce a double page packed with images by copying and pasting across to fill the double - add the question/theme/starting point on the page
• in my experience students like choice for this task and it gives them time to think about how they may move forward.
• This can be used in class or as a cover activity
