Higher tier GCSE Ionic lattice lesson. Refers to a sheet from active teach, which your school may already subscribe to (not included) and refers to pages from the standard Pearson combined Science textbook for GCSE Science. Much of the lesson can be adapted though.

Success criteria are

To state what an ionic lattice is
To explain how it forms
To predict compound names from the ions they contain
To use the “ - ide” and “- ate” suffix correctly
To work out the correct formulas for ionic compounds if given their charges
