This presentation focuses on social factors in sport as part of the AQA GCSE PE course including:
Ethnicity
Family
Peers
Gender

The presentation identifies how each factor can have positive and negative influence on participation in sport activities. Each slide prompts discussion between either teacher and students or just the students themselves, reflecting on whether any of the social issues are impacting or have impacted their experience and participation in sport. Included is the link to a YouTube clip with an overview of Title IX for students to watch with questions related to this clip on the student worksheet.

The student worksheet has differentiated learning objectives at the start so students are able to identify where they are working at. The sheet has been designed to follow the teacher power-point exactly and structured in a way to provide students with clear notes and images to prompt discussion into this area. This also doubles up nicely as a revision sheet should you wish to use it.

Although only a small chapter within the GCSE PE course, this area appears to be fairly consistent within GCSE PE exams in terms of social benefits/advantages/disadvantages/positives/negatives etc!
