A guided six lesson fieldwork project focused on small scale ecosystems. Teaching understanding and evaluation of the geographical enquiry process. There is a PowerPoint presentation which will guide students through the fieldwork booklet and help them to understand the enquiry process.

This PowerPoint allows you to add your own name of the school and site within the school (focuses on 4 sites). This could also be used in another location with multiple different sites to carry out the investigation.

This section of work is based on biodiversity and soil quality.

Lesson one: Setting a hypothesis and enquiry question.

Lesson two: Sampling methods and types of data.

Lesson three: The investigation. This is designed as two lesson a preparation lesson and an outside lesson to collect data.

Lesson four: Outside lesson for data collection.

Lesson five: Data presentation methods. Students to create graphs of the data collected.

Lesson six: Evaluation of the enquiry process. Students will look at each stage of the process and how successful it was.
