Goldilocks and the Three Bears – Colourful Semantics

A visual Colourful Semantics sentence-building resource based on the traditional tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears, designed to support communication, oral language and early sentence construction in EYFS and KS1.

The resource uses the familiar Colourful Semantics structure:

🟧 Who?
🟨 Doing?
🟩 What?
🟦 Where?

Children use visual prompts linked to key events from the story to build and orally rehearse complete sentences such as “Goldilocks eats the porridge” and “The Three Bears find Goldilocks in the bedroom.”

The repetitive visual structure helps children understand the different components of a sentence before putting them together and progressing towards independent writing.

Ideal for:

Nursery and Reception
KS1
Speech and language support
SEN provision
Small-group interventions
Whole-class story work
Early writing activities
Traditional Tales topics

A simple, accessible way to develop vocabulary, comprehension, sentence structure and confidence in speaking in full sentences while exploring a familiar traditional tale.

Please note: This is an independently created educational resource. No storybook is included.
