This is a powerpoint about the Great Fire of London. You may wish to enlarge the images in the powerpoint. Due to the size of the powerpoint I had to make the images smaller then those in my orignial powerpoint in order to upload it.
A powerpoint of some sights and activites in London. I used this in Literacy as an opening for writing an information leaflet about London (Year 2). It also links in well with 'Where in the world is Barnaby Bear?' (Geo, Year 2).
I made this powerpoint as in introduction to the unit. After the powerpoint I read a postcard from Barnaby Bear, where he talked about the weather & food. The children then wrote about how Barnaby travelled, what he'd seen etc.

This lesson involves pupils working in groups to produce an election campaign for one of the claimants to the throne in 1066. (Before the Battle of Hastings lesson) The PowerPoint goes through the claimants to the throne in 1066 which allows students to work in groups for the election campaign task. <br />
The CV worksheet provides students with extra information to support with the group task. The election task work sheet gives clear instructions alongside extension tasks to enable students to complete high quality group work.
Just finished this assembly with my Y5 class, it went so well and they loved it.
It involves an 'X factor' style show where each Greek god auditions to be king of the gods, whilst telling the audience a little bit about the Ancient Greeks.
It involves throwing confetti at the audience, a dance routine to music from Disney's Hercules, and a boy dressing up as Cheryl Cole....if you want.
Adapt and use as you want. Enjoy.
