Growing Up through Objects EYFS KS1 MFL

This resource includes five black-and-white, poster-style pages, each showing a collection of familiar objects linked to particular groups of people and stages of life, such as babies, children, teenagers, adults and older adults.
The main objectives are for children to identify and name objects associated with different ages or stages of development, compare and describe how people’s needs, interests and belongings change over time, and speak or write simple sentences about what they can see and what they notice.
The worksheets can be used individually for colouring and speaking and listening tasks.
The visual prompts are ideal for topics such as Ourselves, Me, Families and Change, encouraging children to make connections with their own lives and experiences while developing speaking, listening, vocabulary and literacy skills.
They can also be used effectively in MFL lessons, providing a clear visual context for introducing and practising everyday vocabulary, describing objects, expressing likes and dislikes, and building simple spoken or written sentences in another language.
Included is a teacher objective and note page which sets out questions that could be asked connected to each page/stage of development.
