Here are the slides I use to prepare my KS1 students to describe how animals are suited to their habitats. The focus is a woodland habitat and the animals who make it their home.
This resource offers a lesson starter for Year 2 children, teachers and parents covering knowledge relating to ‘Living Things and their Habitats’, as a part of their science learning.
This PDF has opportunities for children to answer questions with a talk partner or as a class to develop their ideas for writing.

Included:
Short introduction with lots of questions for the class or talk partners
A sample of what pupil’s writing might look like
Prompts for writing
Sets a writing task

This is a great opportunity for writing within the subject.
