Three great resources to help you meet the learning outcomes for living things and their habitats. Classifying animals parts 1 and 2. In part 1 children will classify vertebrates and invertebrates from a woodland habitat. In part 2 children will further classify vertebrates from a woodland habitat. Each part contains a worksheet in words and with pictures plus examples of writing children can undertake within the subject. Habitats is about getting children ready to write about how animals, from the woodland, are suited to their habitat. It includes picture prompts, examples of what the writing could look like and a word bank. Lots of challenge in each resource allowing for greater depth learning.

These construction cards contain both human and physical features to inspire your pupils. Each cards has a “I can build a …” challenge, a bold image and a further sentence to say the location of the feature. Set 1: features of the UK Set 2: features from around the world Each set has 24 cards included for a total of 48 cards. Each set has 12 human features and 12 physical features. Each card is approximately A5 size. These are great in a tough spot or construction corner and are perfect to reinforce identifying geographical features for KS1 pupils. Laminate the cards and they can be used year after year. I’ve also included a sweet little construction area bunting in blue (this is my favourite for my classroom). Each flag is approximately A5 (slightly smaller). Of course you can resize to meet the needs of your area. Here are the resources I use with my students to learn about the structure of trees (parts of a tree) and the differences between coniferous and deciduous trees. There are opportunities for children to answer questions with a talk partner or as a class to develop their ideas for writing. Included within the lesson starters is a sample of what their writing might look like and a few prompts for the student to use to keep them on track. To aid in starting to identify trees, I’ve included a lesson starter about identifying and describing an oak tree. There is a word bank and worksheet for this task. Here is a little introduction to arrays. There are three resources. Part 1 has lots of pictures of real life arrays as well as the traditional arrangement of dots. Each with a frame to write multiplication equations. The part 2 resource has lots of arrays made of clip art style pictures with a frame to write multiplication equations. Part 3 has further explanation of arrays and array work presented in various styles ie. in pictures, dots, etc. There is also a template for children to use to make and draw their own array.
